Downtown New York has always spawned the creative types in art, fashion and design who set the pace for the rest of the world. Samantha Pleet is one of those artists, evolving from being the founder of her namesake brand three years ago to expanding her deigns into larger collaborations for the masses. Remember this girl's name, because, before you know it, she will be everywhere.

Pleet creates clothing that takes you places and tells stories. You can find hints of Amelia Earhart in a button-down vest or a subtle allusion to her favorite Victorian thief in a hooded cape. With her dandy-inspired rompers, tailored jackets and mini-dresses, Samantha makes clothes for the doer and the dreamer. She has been described as everything from the queen of the romper to a sorceress' understudy.

Pleet tends to jump into new projects head first, her latest being a menswear line called Patrick Pleet that she is launching with her architecturally inclined husband. As if two lines aren't enough, she also teamed up with Eviana Hartman to create Bodkin, an eco-friendly line made from recycled, organic, and found materials. "Bodkin combines our eco-conscious ideas with our independent style," says Pleet. "We keep the production methods as sustainable as possible, from the use of nontoxic dyes to purchasing wind energy credits for our studio."

Rapscallion is Pleet’s new line for Urban Outfitters which will debut in October. "Rapscallion is very exciting. I grew up in Philadelphia where Urban started and I grew up shopping there so you could imagine my excitement when I was offered a chance to work with them," says Pleet.

Keep you eyes open for a Samantha Pleet pop-up shop in November in Los Angeles that will carry her designs as well as some vintage pieces and gifts. We're devoted fans already and we want you to jump on the bandwagon.
