Sometimes going to the Lower East Side makes us New Yorkers sad, because what once was our version of The Bowery in the 80s is now essentially The Meatpacking District. The yuppies will always prevail. So we Downtowners have been slowly moving to the Lower Lower Eastside and Chinatown for our meals, shopping and entertainment. Hidden in one of our favorite little "alcoves" of this hood is Project No. 8. It looks like a gallery, and it's filled with cherry-picked collections and finer looks from Boudicca, Repetto and Schisser, to name a few.
Bonus: Our favorite new Italian restaurant and wine bar to open in New York City in the last year is next door at Bacaro. The owners of Peasant found a diamond in the rough. Better get down the "LLES" before the hotels start popping up.
